In 1995, when the Internet was in its infancy, I created the Flat Stanley Project at www.flatstanleyproject.com. My Flat Stanley Project has been referred to as one of the very first social networks and, since its humble beginnings, is now familiar to millions of children, parents and teachers around the world.
Jeff Brown, who wrote the original book in 1964, contacted me when he noticed a huge increase in interest in Flat Stanley. Jeff and I became very good friends, and we kept in touch for the rest of his life.
I have remained an unpaid volunteer since beginning the Flat Stanley Project, with positive comments and feedback being the only reward.
